The South East Enterprise Platform Programme (SEEPP) delivered by the Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT), is currently seeking applications for consideration for intake in September 2007.

SEEPP is a one-year development programme providing supports aimed at accelerating the start-up of businesses with high growth potential (in terms of turnover and employees). SEEPP offers a mix of management skills training, business mentoring, personal development, financial support and incubation space to help participants develop and commercialise their business idea.

We have had a number of clients participate on SEEPP and they have generally found the programme to be extremely beneficial, in particular the facility that it offers to interact with and learn from other entrepreneurs in similar start-up situations.

The following are clients of Kilkenny CEB that have recently completed the 2006-2007 programme:

  • Gareth Hanlon of League Leader Developments Ltd., designing and producing a range of board games based on leading sports (e.g. gaelic football and hurling, soccer and rugby). Gareth used SEEPP to develop the concept of providing his board games as a merchandising product, tailored specifically for individual professional soccer clubs (www.leagueleader.com);
  •  Thomas Marry of Ormonde Technologies Ltd., providing secure, easily-accessible and easy-to-use, high speed Internet access solutions for the hospitality industry. Their first solution is Surfbox®, a coin and credit card operated internet access terminal for hotels, which allows hotel guests pay-as-you-go access to the internet without the need for a laptop computer (www.surfbox.ie);
  •  Tom Byrnes of Pack Publishing Ltd., designing and publishing a unique range of compact, convenient and child friendly publications, for the travel, hospitality and tourism sectors (www.packpublishing.com).
  • Kevin Hughes, In A Dark Place Ltd., specializing in the development of a unique mobile-based learning tool, utilising picture and sound association.

Applicants to SEEPP must ideally – have an innovative business concept with export potential; a third-level qualification; several years relevant industry/workplace experience; and be prepared to commit full-time to the programme which is one year duration. You can get further details on SEEPP at www.seepp.ie
